By January 2000, Carol McFadden, of Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA, had collected 30,748 different pairs of earrings.

Largest Key-Ring Collection

The world's largest keychain collection belongs to Kurt Meadows of Richlands, Virginia, USA, with a total of 24,810 unduplicated keychains as of April 2001.

Largest Handbag

The largest handbag, unveiled in April 2003 at the Shopping Center Iquatemi, was created by Santa Marinella of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and measured 3.7 m tall, 3.54 m wide and 1.6 m deep (12 ft 1 in x 11 ft 7 in x 5 ft 3 in).

The big bag – an exact replica of the leather accessories company's original bag – was created to celebrate their 30th year in business, and to encourage donations to poverty charities. It is made from 42 m (138 ft) of synthetic leather (stamped lined PVC) with 30 m (98 ft) of natural cow leather trim, and took five months to complete.

The giant handbag was used to store canned goods that were later distributed to charities.

Most Body Piercings with Surgical Needles

Canada's Brent Moffat inserted into his body 700 surgical needles – all 18 gauge (1.2 cm or 0.47 in long) – in 7 hours 19 minutes at Metamorphosis Custom Piercing and Tattoo, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on January 15, 2003.

The 34-year-old human pin-cushion described the sensation of 700 needles in his legs like "a million insects crawling all over me." The final piercings were pushed through his nipples.

Moffat has endured half a lifetime of pain since accidentally shooting himself in the stomach with a .22 calibre rifle as a teenager. He has since embellished his body with numerous tattoos, and facial and genital piercings.

Longest Tattoo Session

The longest tattoo session lasted for 33 hours and was completed by Britain's Chris Goodwill, who tattooed fellow Brit Kevin Budden – the uncle of former UK Big Brother contestant Jade Goody – at the Electric Pencil Tattoo Studio in Plumstead, Greater London, UK, on April 12–13 2003. The full-color designs included peacocks (8 hours to complete), a Native American head (4 hours 30 minutes), a Union Jack flag (4 hours 40 minutes) and flames (4 hours).

Largest Swatch Watch Collection

Fiorenzo Barindelli, of Cesano Maderno, Lombardy, Italy, has a collection of 3,677 Swatch watches, including an example of every Swatch watch type produced since 1983.

Most Valuable Jewel At Auction

A 100.10-carat, pear-shaped, "D" flawless diamond was sold for 19,858,500 Swiss francs ($16,548,750) at Sotheby’s, Switzerland, on May 17, 1995. It was bought by Sheikh Ahmed Fitaihi, for his jewellery shops in Saudi Arabia. "D" is the highest color grade given to diamonds and indicates that the diamond is the finest white.
